Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others are there to tell the owner how the site is being used. This page explains which sort we use and how to control them.

Cookies we need

A small number of cookies are necessary for the website to function, for example to remember the choice you made about cookies themselves, to keep a form working while you fill it in, and to keep the site secure. These do not identify you personally and we do not need your permission to use them, because without them the site would not work.

Cookies that measure how the site is used

We use analytics to understand which pages people find useful, how they arrived and where they give up, because that is how the site gets better. This tells us about patterns across all visitors rather than about you as an individual, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to advertise to you. These cookies are only set if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.

Online booking

When you book an appointment you are passed to our booking provider, which is a separate system with its own cookies and its own privacy terms. We do not control what that system sets. If you would rather not use it, ring reception on 01428 642577 and we will book the appointment for you.

What we do not do

We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell information about your visit to anybody. Nothing about the pages you read here is shared with advertisers, which matters more than usual on a health website where the pages you look at may say something private about you.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device, delete them, and block them in future. The setting is usually under privacy or site data. Blocking everything will stop some parts of this or any other website working properly, so it is worth blocking selectively rather than wholesale.
