Liz treats adults with diagnosed gastrointestinal and food related allergic conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), coeliac disease, diverticular disease and pollen food syndrome. She also helps people manage the anxiety about food that often comes with these conditions.

Liz is passionate about health and wellbeing, and her approach is built on empathy, education and empowerment. Rather than handing you a list of foods to avoid, she explains what is going on, works out with you what is realistic for your life, and gives you the knowledge and confidence to make changes that last.

Experience

Liz graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition and Dietetics, and started work in the NHS three days later. She joined the Royal Surrey County Hospital in 2000, where she is now a Gastro Allergy Specialist Dietitian.

Over her career she has worked across diabetes, renal care, oncology and weight management, and for the past seventeen years she has specialised in gastrointestinal and allergy conditions, with a particular interest in IBS and coeliac disease.

Gut and brain

Liz has a long standing interest in how the brain and body affect each other, and in the way physical, mental and emotional health interact. Building on counselling skills training early in her career, her work with IBS has become increasingly holistic. In 2025 she completed a Level 3 Diploma in Hypnotherapy and an Introduction to Counselling Skills, followed in 2026 by the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis course in gut-directed hypnotherapy. Very few dietitians in the UK are trained to offer it.
